Tuesday's Romance of Cookery and Housekeeping

Thousand Island Salad Dressing
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons dehydrated minced onions
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons minced sweet pickles
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Mix well in mini food processor. I like it a little thinner than traditional so it tosses easily. Chill 24-48 hours before using.

Modified from recipe (page 93) adapted from ‘A Thousand Ways to Please a Husband’ by Louise Bennett Weaver and Helen Cowles LeCron

I do the memes: Menu Plan Monday hosted by Laura at I’m an Organizing Junkie, Favorite Ingredient Friday hosted by Kathryn at Overwhelmed with Joy, Freezer Food Friday hosted by MJ at mjpuzzlemom, Scrumptious Sunday hosted by Meredith at Mercedes Rocks and Slow Cooking Thursday hosted by Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. Doing them all make great additions to help keeping me on track and finding so new recipes!

Thank you!!!! I’d rather make it than buy the store crap. I don’t use this type that often, but for a couple recipes like my seashell salad and reubens I do!!!

Hugs,
