You know that waxy feel when you take them out of the box? That substance builds up on your clothes AND on your lint screen. This is also what causes dryer units to potentially burn your house down with it! Don’t believe me? Run water over your lint screen and chances are it will run off the sides instead of going through the mesh. If so it IS definitely time to clean that screen.
Once a week after your laundry is done remove your lint screen and run it through your dishwasher to remove this film with hot soapy water. Some theorize that you will double the life of your dryer!

Great tip. I clean the lint off the tray every time I put something in the dryer, but perhaps I need to wash it once a week, too.
Who knew? My brother-in-law’s mom uses them to keep mosquitoes away. That’s the best use I know of. But it’s funny as heck to see my nephews with them stuffed inside their sandals and pockets and sleeves!

I’ve heard this before. I tried running water through mine and it went right through – guess there’s a good point to using the cheap ones! When I first read the title of this post on my dashboard I thought it said Lint Screams! LOL! I was thinking that my dust says a few things, but never my lint 😉
