In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would participate and take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
I have a bit of an issue with restaurants that post a sign that employees must wash their hands before returning to work in the restroom. To start with, it should be common sense and not necessary to post, but since it is a state health requirement they require the posting.
My question is: Shouldn’t that restaurant
also be REQUIRED to provide hot water for that purpose?

1. It seems like
my TO DO list keeps getting longer and longer no matter how many things I cross off.
2. Turn off the light when you’re done, please?
3. If I thought you might like to know that I’d like for you to leave a comment or two on my blog!
4. Friendship is what I think of most when I think of you.
5. To me, Valentine’s Day means relaxing and playing with hubby for the day.

Oh definitely, hot water should be a priority as well as clean bathrooms!
A well cleaned/kept bathroom should be a requirement. It just grosses me out to walk into one and see it totally trashed. Hot water would be a start but actually making it feel less germy to begin with would be fabulous!
If they don’t have hot water for your hands how the heck are they washing dishes? Gross.
I see that sign a lot too and I always hope it works!
I enjoy your blog…Have a super weekend
Yes!
I guess I’ve been lucky and haven’t come acoss a restaurant without hot water.
For your Friday question–definitely!! The water should be hot (at least WARM!!)
And for your Friday fill in–Faith is truly what keeps me going 🙂
Yes, hot water would be nice. But not so hot it burns the kids’ hands. 🙁
I would think hot water would be pretty important for propper hand cleaning.
I don’t want to think about that… ewww
great answers on the fill in and love the question as well. Do you not just hate it when eating out and a worker comes out of stall and walks right past the sink I have asked them to come back to the sink and wash and then reported it to the manager. THere are so many food borne illnesses that can come out of not washing hands better off preparing at home
ewwww no hot water are they nut’s?
I agree! I always see those signs posted and it makes me wonder WHY restaurants have to post them in the firs place!
I like that they have the signs posted. Sure, it’s common sense but it gives me a little reassurance that maybe they actually are washing their hands, lol.
I have not seen any yet that don’t have water.
Definitely hot water as well as soap and paper towels or hand dryer!!
I must have missed something. Why didn’t the restaurant have hot water?
What a fun fill-in you had! And yes, I totally agree w/ the hot water, clean towels, soap & that darn sign. I mean c’mon! Does no one Not know that by now?
I have a sign in my store, though I think it is stupid. And my state requires I have hot water to wash hands.
My hands are always so cold, I hate when there is no hot water
I cringe every time I see that sign because it totally grosses me out that some employees don’t do that. Ugh. ugh. ugh. Those french fries suddenly got 10 times less appetizing.
But, yes, I’d say hot water should be a must!
Not only hot water, but soap and a way to dry your hands. And while I’m at it, t.p.!!! Most important is t.p.!!!!
My faith gives me strength too!
Yes, I believe that there should be hot water to wash their hands. We have the signs posted here as well. I have seen too many employees leave without washing their hands!!
When I lived on the west coast, most fast food places and many regular lower end restaurant had turned off the hot water in the restrooms and even here in the North Woods it’s the same way. It also darn cold here in the winter!
Does this mean that someone did not have hot water for employees to wash their hands? I agree with you the sign is annoying, since it is common sense.
Love your answers. Have a great weekend and happy Valentines Day.
My faith gives me strength (and peace!), too. But, I have to say, I also love the North Woods! Have a good Valentine’s Day.
I love to comment on your blog…and you have the best recipes!!!
