Joy, thank you for the award!

I signed on to another wonderful award from Joy at Joy of Desserts this morning.
Thank you so much!

It then consumed much of my morning as I visited the wonderful paces it has already been and had to do mucho translating to read them all… In fact I’m still reading… This award is truly making its way around the world.

It is always hard for me to make choices on passing these awards on, but the truth is that we must choose, life is always a choice. So I have chosen the following blogs for all of their positive contributions, delicious recipes, beautiful designs, wonderful photos, and most of all the gift of their friendship and laughter as well as their magical blog world where they let me come and dream!

Joy @ JOY of DESSERTS gave me this great award with the task of passing it on to 10 other bloggers. That makes it quite difficult to choose since there are so many great ladies out there that I try to keep up with.

So, with no further ADO and in no particular order, here’s the other 1/2 my list finally now that I’m back from vacation:
  1. Alice at Alice’s Restaurant for her Jack and Jill series alone earns this award. She finds new and inventive ways to keep us laughing.
  2. Susan at Farmgirl Fare has flair for farm life and captures it in her pictures to keep us informed, amused and smiling from ear to ear.
  3. Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for wonderful outlook on life, kids and food. She hosts Slow Cooking Thursday which is full of wonderful recipes and other wonderful ladies to visit.
  4. Stephanie over Mississippi Songbird because she has a fun outlook on everything.
  5. Sharon over at Hustle Hag because she makes me laugh. She has a wonderful sense of humor and great perspective on life.

So, with no further ADO and in no particular order, here’s 1/2 my list to start with:
  1. Barbara over at Candy Hearts and Paper Flowers has become a close friend via our blogs and has helped through many a ‘techinical’ issue of late. We have many similar likes, beliefs and values and I love chatting with her ~ sometimes into the wee hours of the morning. She also maintains the blog Kitchen Comforts with lots of great recipes! She also hosts a new meme, Monday’s Musings that is full of fun quotes.
  2. Kathryn over at Overwhelmed with Joy hosts one of my favorite memes, Favorite Ingredient Friday where we share a multitude of recipes. She has an awesome look on life and is a great caring foster mom with a full plate, but always time for everyone. She also host Pay It Forward, a book exchange.
  3. Misty Dawn at Misty’s Words is becoming an awesome photographer and is also hosting a new Meme, Camera Critters. It has taken off with a bang and we have many, many players. Check out some of their awesome animal pictures!
  4. Meredith over at Mercedes Rocks is hosting 2 memes that I love. The first is Scrumtious Sunday, a themed recipe exchange and the other is Hump Day Humor, also themed. She is a lot of fun and some great ideas for teachers.
  5. Penelope Anne, better known as Sassy Mama Bear over at the Cafe at the End of the Universe just because she makes me laugh. She has a wonderful sense of humor and does some in depth looks at local events.

Sweet Sweet Surprise!

I signed on for a quick email check while we are preparing for our family reunion and look what I found. Joy @ Joy of Desserts left me a super sweet surprise. This is her quote that made me smile big and feel some serious heartstring tugs:

So I’m surfing through the 892 emails tonight, no lie, 892, trying to see which ones pertain to OWOH whose entries end at midnight, which ones are blogger friends I need to read up on and the normal spam, etc… when lo’ and behold I receive this one:

I think I’m almost down to 2½ sides…and I’m FINALLY taking back my life…

I love to cook, read, write, quilt, craft, go antiquing, amateur photography and to learn new things. I’m a Jill of many trades & always have more interests and desires than I have time. LOL I’m still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I love being a homemaker and keeping my family healthy and happy.
As a Christian woman I believe life is all about change and that learning to cope with it as it happens will help you through life. I believe in Murphy’s Law, the Domino Effect, Payback’s a Bitch, and Karma. I also believe that Pay It Forward and living by the Golden Rule go a long way to keep the former from happening to begin with. I believe everything happens for a reason and that life is one big adventure.
I try to see life through rose colored glasses and be as tolerant as possible. My glass is always half full. I am an optimist, extremely positive minded and usually a really upbeat person so anything goes within reason.
I especially love to cook and develop new recipes. I have written a couple of cookbooks for family reunions that I’m working on getting published and have new cook books in the works.
I really love candles and try to always have one burning in the evening for aroma and ambiance.
