Monday #2/2009, January 12th

Outside my Window…The wind is blowing and the snow drifts are drifting under gray skies and a light snow.
I am thinking…
that the coffee better be ready soon!

From the learning rooms…
nothing this week.
I am thankful for…my wonderful loving hubby who is taking the time to help me finish so many of the indoor projects this past week as well as this one.
From the kitchen…we will have some blueberry banana crunch, apple rolls and some Texas Hash this week.
I am wearing…my favorite Levi’s and my Harley Davidson Kansas T-shirt
I am reading…The Quilter’s Kitchen by Jennifer Chiaverini & The Secret’s in the Sauce, The Potluck Catering Club by Linda Evans Shepherd and Eva Marie Everson
I am hoping…that we can finish this weeks projects efficiently and keep moving forward so that we can make an informed decision in the spring.
I am creating…a new quilt for the quilt hanger that goes up after the stairwell walls are done.
I am hearing…
the sweet sound of nothing! I love the quiet moments of the morning that I can call my own before this place comes to life!
Around the house… With the cold front approaching I do not plan to leave this house at all this week and our plans are to finish texture coating the walls in Amber’s room and the stairwell and getting it all painted.

One of my favorite things…Crossing lots of things off my many to do lists.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… and reworking a few more recipes – having the oven on helps heat the kitchen.

Monday #1/2009, January 5th
Outside my Window… The clouds full of snow are looming low and are much grayer than normal making it look so much earlier than it is.
I am thinking…
that I need to seriously concentrate on MY quality time with myself and accomplishing a specific goal each week as well as some of my UFOs (Unfinished Fabric Objects) to ease my sense of overwhelming.
From the learning rooms…
nothing this week.
I am thankful for…my husband’s volunteer work issue being sorted out last week, FINALLY!! They were taking advantage of him and he finally realized it. One of those guy things, he needed to figure it out for himself. Also that Eric will be home for a few days. He and his dad will have some ‘guy’ time together.
From the kitchen…For breakfast maple and brown sugar oatmeal with golden raisins and coffee for me, lunch will be out after bowling league and dinner will be Country Chicken & Rice.
I am wearing…my favorite Levi’s and my West Yellowstone, Embalmer’s Beer T-shirt.
I am reading…Suddenly by Barbara Delinsky
I am hoping…to finish organizing the front coat closet as well as the closet where we store the holiday decorations and the basement this week.
I am creating…a mess while I reorganize the quilting supplies trying to simplify the studio.
I am hearing…
the last few percolations from the coffee pot YAY!! I need coffee!!
Around the house… A house to be cleaned, a ceiling to be repaired from the shower leak and lots of trim molding and painting.

One of my favorite things…Is my quiet morning time with just my thoughts.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… With Eric home, the plans are up in the air and going to be spontaneous, but I do plan to finish a few recipes and maybe a quilt.

Outside My Window…
Snow is lightly falling and the wind is still blowing.

I am thinking… how nice it would be to crawl back into bed and spend the day there reading.

I am thankful for… for hubby and my family! We miss family A LOT, but are still taking one day at a time.

From the kitchen… Coffee smells sooooooooooo good this morning and french toast is almost ready.

I am wearing… Levis, long sleeve tee and slippers.

I am creating… less of a mess this week with trying get the bits and pieces of this remodel out of my dining room, but now the office looks like a tornado hit it1 LOL one room at a time

I am going… not sure yet.

I am reading & learning… Cross Country Quilters by Jennifer Chiaverini.

I am hoping… to finish the bathroom molding this week.

I am hearing… golden silence.

Around the house… I am simplifying and then simplifying some more.

One of my favorite things… Whiskey curling up at my feet with her head tucked between my ankles.

FOR TODAY, OCTOBER 20, 2008 …

Outside My Window… The clouds are hanging low and it’s raining. It really looks dreary today.

I am thinking… I’m disappointed in not getting everything on my list accomplished because I have been so sick this ast couple of weeks.

I am thankful for… for hubby and my family! We miss family A LOT, but are taking one day at a time.

From the kitchen… I have some ideas for some new recipes, but nothing that is ready to share.

I am wearing… Levis, long sleeve tee and clogs.

I am creating… a mess this week with trying get the bits and pieces of this remodel out of my dining room.

I am going… nowhere! Yay!

I am reading & learning… nothing this week – taking a break!

I am hoping… that I get well this week and accomplish at least 1/2 my TO DO list.

I am hearing… the coffee and waiting for that last gurgle so I can have a cup.

Around the house… prep for winter and finish projects.

One of my favorite things… Fall, Halloween, the smell of apples and leaves burning.

Outside My Window…It is still raining and windy… snow is already in the 10 day forecast for the 14th
I am thinking…Fall is beautiful here, but short lived. We could have measurable snow in the next few weeks.
From the learning room…I am learning a another new software program.
I am thankful for… everything we have during this tumultuous time and that we are in relatively good health.
From the kitchen…I’ve just finished 2 days of non-stop cooking for recipes I’ve been dveloping to finish the next cookbook as well as pre-prepare for a houseful at Christmas time.
I am wearing… faded blue jeans, polo shirt, my ARMY sweatshirt and my pink suede slippers.
I am STILL creating…a mess in the family room sorting out a few boxes that have been still packed since we moved in here. They never got unpacked because of the mold problem. I am STILL doing this – what a long process. This answer I hope will change in the next couple of weeks.
I am going… nowhere, but am running late this week and am watching Monday night football with hubby.
I am STILL reading…multiple books this week, but really close to finishing at least 2.
I am STILL hoping… to clear yet a few more problems from my desk this week.
I am hearing…the Monday Night Football announcers sound like idiots as they do at times.
Around the house…I recently blew out the furnace, dusted and vacuumed from top to bottom literally!
One of my favorite things…A cool fall evening with candles glowing, the dog asleep on my feet and hubby yelling at the TV (football). Don’t you just love arm chair quarterbacks, honestly they are as bad as the announcers sometimes that they are yelling at! LOL

Outside My Window… It is obvious that fall is here and winter is on it’s way as it is darker and darker when I get up in the mornings. It’s supposed to be cooler here today and there is a light rain falling.
I am thinking… I want to finish organizing and get ahead of the clutter for a change.
From the learning room… I will use this are for myself since I don’t home school. I am learning a new software program.
I am thankful for… hubby still continuing to heal and getting the fall chores done before the city’s pick up deadline.
From the kitchen… I’m developing more new recipes to finish the next cookbook.
I am wearing… faded blue jeans and polo shirt, my normal Monday bowling team attire.
I am creating…a mess in the family room sorting out a few boxes that have been still packed since we moved in here. They never got unpacked because of the mold problem. I am STILL doing this – what a long process. This answer I hope will change in the next couple of weeks.
I am going… bowling, running errands and watching Monday night football with hubby.
I am STILL reading… multiple cook books this week.
I am STILL hoping… to clear a few more problems from my desk this week.
I am hearing… the hum of the dishwasher I forgot to run last night, the soft purr of the washing machine and the brewmaster on its last gurgles so I can have my coffee.
Around the house… I realize I have a TON of trim molding to still do.

Outside My Window… a fog is hovering over the yard. again! It’s supposed to be cool and nice here today, but I can’t see it yet.
I am thinking… how quickly Fall arrived since we had virtually no summer this year.
From the learning room… like Sandra I will use this are for myself since I don’t home school. I am learning a new quilt pattern.
I am thankful for… hubby continuing to heal and getting the fall chores done before the city’s pick up deadline.
From the kitchen… I’m developing new recipes for desserts like the Black Forest Cups and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Clusters.
I am wearing… faded blue jeans and polo shirt, my normal Monday bowling team attire.
I am creating…a mess in the family room sorting out a few boxes that have been still packed since we moved in here. They never got unpacked because of the mold problem. I am STILL doing this – what a long process.
I am going… bowling, running errands and then taking some fall pictures on the way home.
I am STILL reading… multiple cook books this week.
I am hoping… to clear a few more problems from my desk this week.
I am hearing… the trash truck move through town.
Around the house… fall decorations are going up and summer flower boxes are coming down. I’m going to try and keep the summer flowers going through the winter in the basement.
One of my favorite things… the cool crisp air of fall, my favorite season. Pulling out the slippers instead of the thongs, exchanging shorts for sweats and wrapping in a blanket to get cozy. I even dressed my Meez in fall colors and she lit the fireplace for that at home cozy feeling.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Finish sorting these boxes and get boxes and bags to local charity, straightening out the mess in the barn and cleaning the house top to bottom after I blow out the furnace dust.

Outside My Window… a fog is hovering over the yard. It’s supposed to be cool and nice here today, but I can’t see it yet.
I am thinking… how fortunate I am to be celebrating another birthday in relatively good health.
From the learning room… like Sandra I will use this are for myself since I don’t home school. I am trying to learn additional patience to use with the increasingly patience trying people I am encountering of late.
I am thankful for… hubby healing well and all my family in Houston being safe.
From the kitchen… not much is going on this week out of the ordinary and we’re eating out for my birthday today so I don’t even have anything planned until tomorrow.
I am wearing… faded blue jeans and polo shirt, my normal Monday bowling team attire.
I am creating…a mess in the family room sorting out a few boxes that have been still packed since we moved in here. They never got unpacked because of the mold problem.
I am going… bowling, errands and then my favorite Thai restaurant with hubby.
I am reading… multiple cook books this week.
I am hoping… to clear a few problems from my desk this week.
I am hearing… nothing – what a glorious sound first thing in the morning.
Around the house… EVERYONE is asleep but me hence why it’s so quiet!! I love this time to myself.
One of my favorite things… the cool crisp air of fall, my favorite season. Pulling out the slippers instead of the thongs, exchanging shorts for sweats and wrapping in a blanket to get cozy. I even dressed my Meez in fall colors and she lit the fireplace for that at home cozy feeling.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Finish sorting these boxes and get boxes and bags to local charity and getting this mop on my head cut into a decent haircut.
Here is picture thought I am sharing… I had just gotten this load out of the dryer and set it in the chair while I transferred the wet clothes to the dryer and started the next load. When I went back to take it upstairs to fold this is what I found… Even Sady is trying to snuggle in for fall.

Outside my Window… it is a bit overcast and clear to see that the beginnings of fall are here. Our high is only supposed to be around 60 degrees and I LOVE it.

I am thinking… that I never seem to be able to pinpoint what I’m thinking because there are just too many jumbled thoughts in there – LOL.

I am thankful for… hubby healing quickly and with very few problems.

From the kitchen… I have a pot of chili started for Monday Night Football and several other dishes that I’m going to freeze for the houseful over Christmas.

I am still creating… lots bread recipe posts for the upcoming bread round-up here at 3 Sides of Crazy.

I am going… to bowling league and errand running.

I am wearing… Levi’s, flip flops and my favorite T-shirt

I am hoping…to finish the wall quilt from last week and start working with my birthday fabric from Jenn.

I am hearing… the chili bubble and birds outside my window.

Outside my Window… is bright blue sky with large fluffy clouds and just enough of a breeze to ruffle the leaves, but it is unseasonally warm. It is supposed to turn fall temperatures Wednesday thankfully.

Outside My Window…a beautiful day is dawning.
I am thinking…how wonderful it will be to spend the entire day with hubby for our anniversary. After a leisurely breakfast we’re going to do the flea markets in St. Germain and then dinner at Golden Pines.
I am thankful for…having a wonderful marriage and a fantastic, sweet, sensitive, kind and romantic husband, (but tell him I told you – he still think everyone thinks he’s macho – you know that military attitude thing).
From the kitchen…I’m starting to prepare soup and stew packets for the freezer for the winter.
I am wearing…a skirt and blouse with my favorite sandals.
I am creating…the end of the cookbook this week.
I am going…start my query letters to publishers.
I am reading…The Manning Sisters by Debbie Macomber.
I am hoping…summer lasts a little longer.
I am hearing…the early morning stirrings of our little town.
Around the house…everyone is still sleeping and the silence is golden.
One of my favorite things…canning the summer fruits to enjoy in the winter.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: cutting back the spring bulbs, painting the deck and front porch, cleaning out the front closet and finishing the trim molding in the upstairs bathroom.
