LAST WEEK RECAPPED
Good morning friends. Did you remember to reset your clocks? I’m already hating the early darkness making the evenings seem sooooo very long.
It was a fairly busy weekend here beginning with Halloween on Friday night. We had about 100 kids (or 2 Costco bags worth of candy) come through our neighborhood. There are a lot of really rural communities around us and they bring their kids to our neighborhood to Trick-Or-Treat because we are literally the first organized neighborhood as you head into town. The welcome sign to our town is literally posted at the bottom of our back hill on the highway 🙂Â
With Halloween over and us not doing Thanksgiving here at our house, I’m moving right along into enjoying the Christmas holidays. Everything is happening so fast this year! So, I’m starting earlier again as you can see by my new header and background. My front door table is all that’s decorated for Thanksgiving – everything else is moving straight into Christmas. Hubby and I started getting Christmas decorations out of storage yesterday. We’re using the artificial tree this year and it is up and acclimating to the house. Hubby spent some time last night leafing out the branches. We’ll start decorating it tomorrow or Wednesday.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE
We’re supposed to have rain all week off and on. Looks like it may be more on than off, but that’s okay as we’re so far behind this year. Highs in the mid 50’s and lows in the low 40’s will have me wearing my favorite turtlenecks and flannels this week.

Your pic about Daylight Saving time made me laugh out loud! I wish they would leave things alone!!! It bothers me to have to shake things up too.
We aren’t doing Thanksgiving here either… soo maybe you’re right about moving on to Christmas. I barely got my fall stuff out, but I was way behind this year and it seems like September and October just flashed on by me! My kids have been BEGGING to put up Christmas… so maybe I’ll give in in a week or so!
It was nice to catch up today! I changed my blog name again lol, but I’m easy to find on HHM 🙂 Love following you, as always!
I wondered about the blog name, but I get it. Reinvention takes time. Give in, you’ll be glad you did! Christmas for me is a state of mind, not just a day, so I like to decorate and celebrate always! Hope you’re having a great week!
Always such a busy bee! My Christmas decoration now consist of one little hot pink tree I bought for my baby Luna year before last. I don’t know if I’ll ever bring out all the other decorations again. I’m an old Grinch now, lol.
I still try to be a busy bee, but I am backing off significantly this year! I LOVE the Grinch!!!! 🙂
Hello dear Friend!
Happy November to you. So thankful for you in this blogland space. 🙂
It sure sounds like you got a lot of trick-or-treaters!! Wowzers. I miss those days when my kids were littles and it was extra fun.
I’m starting to think and plan for the holidays ahead and plan to do some early baking to freeze. It’s fun to dream on and I’ll listen to Christmas music while I do it!
I didn’t see that the Baking Championship was beginning already. I’ll need to check that out!
Blessings on your week ahead. xo
Aw thanks! I am so thankful to for you too! I agree – it’s seeing all the littles and their costumes that make Halloween fun for me! The cutest one I saw this year was a very tall red headed 12 or 13 year old dressed like a cross between Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, a scarecrow, Cinderella AND a tin man all at once!! Have a great week too!
