Doing Happy Homemaker Monday so extensively helps keep me on track as it summarizes the past week and lays out a fairly concise plan for this week. Be sure to join us for Happy Homemaker Monday and link up with our host, Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom
I hope everyone is having a wonderful fall season! It’s this time of year that I really miss living in the U.P. But, a friend posted a couple of pictures a few days ago that also reminded me that I don’t like snow quite this early and they are already having some and many events even closed yesterday due to inclement weather. This is an area that doesn’t hardly close for anything! Having a snow event this early could be indicative of a LONGER than normal winter for them.
Looks like this will be a beautiful week that will end in a much cooler (like almost 20 degrees difference from 79° this Wednesday and 61° next Wednesday) typical Pacific North West Fall rain event and I couldn’t be happier to be hanging up my flip flops and digging out the socks, shoes and hoodies 😀 Today is comfy worn Levis, a pink cami and a lightweight plaid flannel with my favorite worn in POPS.
We still have a fire burning here that has been creating some horrible air quality, not to mention the smell so am grateful for the rain coming that will help on all fronts with the fire.
Breakfast is a never changing category, but I’m looking forward to trying to add some oatmeal back to it with the weather change coming. I embellished this funny for Halloween. Please forgive me if you’re a candy corn fan 😀

I’m working on finishing Hallows End by Kirsten Proby and beginning Adrift by Jana DeLeon.
I hate to admit I didn’t take any real pictures this week. I have several #LumberTrain #RailArt photos to edit for Instagram, but have yet to get to those for posting.
I know this isn’t a cooking tip, but they look so yummy!

Hello! I completely agree with you about candy corn. I much prefer Peanut Butter cups. You can’t go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter. Hope you have a great week.
YAY for the peanut butter cup club! My week is going great, hope yours is too!
Hello dear Friend!
Your inspirations and funnies just tickled me this week. I love candy corn – but your comment was pretty perfect. Lol
And I so want that Fall margarita! Oh my word does it sound fabulous!! Of course all of your food looks so good always. That soup is witchcraft is so hilarious (& kinda true!)
I know you’re waiting for fun shows – do you ever watch PBS ones? I’m watching the 2nd season of Miss Scarlet and the Duke – that’s kind of a neat period piece show.
Have a blessed week ahead! xo
I will check out those shows. Hubby isn’t one for the British ones, but I can try them during the day while I clean and such. My favorite PBS series ever was the Megan Follows and Colleen Dewhurst version of Anne of Green Gables.
Margaritas will be served at 6 and there’s always room for one more so just pop on by 😀 I’ll have the cauldron on with a good soup or stew!
Have a great week!
I’ll be right over! Lol I love that Anne of GG too – absolute fave!
Instead of dumping the candy corn, just mail it off to me! Love me some candy corn! The inspiration on forgiveness….. whew, I needed to read that!! Have a great week!
LOL I’ll send it your way if any finds it way into the house 😀 I’m glad the inspiration spoke to you. Have a GREAT rest of the work.
Oatmeal sounds so creamy and warm! I will be making it this week as our temperatures are sure dropping. Thank you for sharing your food ideas, I am going to remember some of these!
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the recipes. Have a GREAT week!
The Fall margarita looks good! I don’t like Candy corn so found it funny.
Have a great wek
I’ll keep you posted about the margaritas! I have all the ingredients, now just need the time 😀 Hope your week goes well too!
I do actually like candy corn but that little cartoon is funny. And given the choice, I don’t think many people would pick candy corn over a peanut butter cup 😉 I got AMC+ to watch the last season of The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul (a good one if you’ve not seen it, prequel to Breaking Bad). There was another show on there (shorter) that I thought was really good though called Dark Winds that you might like, it’s more of a mystery than anything scary. Hope you have a great week!
HA HA at the peanut butter cup choice over the candy corn 😀 We’re up to date on The Walking Dead and have never seen an episode of either Breaking Bade or Better Call Saul, but the Dark Winds does interest me a lot. Hope your week goes great too!
OH MY GOODNESS!!! You had me laughing about the candy corns…..that was so cute. I do like candy corns and have to eat them in segments, each color at a time..lol
I love to read and every spare moment I have I am reading, so I am truly enjoying everyone’s books they are sharing. The pictures of all your meals looked SCRUMPTIOUSSS, absolutely, yummy!!!! I will be borrowing some recipes for sure. I enjoyed this entire blog post and could probably write pages replying to everything. I will be back and I am so glad I found your blog. I see a lot of similarities in us 🙂
Have a wonderful Monday!!

LOL I ate candy corn as a kid periodically, but never cared for it though hubby LOVES it. I hope you find some fun things to read. My reading tastes are ALL over the place! I hope you enjoy the recipes. I LOVE to cook and we never have the same thing twice usually! I’m glad you found me too. 😀 I have a super busy week, but will get over to visit you now that you’ve adjusted your commens.
I enjoy your blogpost, The quotes on the pictures… Nana Hoffman, they are so good. I don’t know who she is. You?
Our menus are so different. Europeans preach the “less is more” in every plate. I wonder how you eat all that food. Do you eat everything with a knife and fork like the Europeans? We hold our knife in our right hand and the fork in our left during the whole meal. We never eat with our hands. We also eat pizzas with a knife and fork. Only mini quiches, we eat with our hands 🙂
Thank you so much for your interesting blog post.
Thank you! Nana Hoffman is the author of a meme I follow on Facebook. I just love the positive vibes her posts send. 😀
The plates you see for my food posts are just the “picture” plates. I usually cut everything in half after the picture and hubby and I share a plate. Personally I’m a “grazer” because of my health conditions and can only eat 4 ounces at a time so it really is all perception! We do eat a bit differently though I have been known to eat pizza with a knife and a fork when it’s truly messy. We do put our knife down when not in use. 😀
